Welcome to British Columbia’s Purcell Mountains — home to deep powder, untouched slopes and a heli-ski adventure of a lifetime. Join me in checking off this Bucket List item.
In This Ski Video You Will Discover:
- The Rush of a Helicopter
- Deep Powder Turns
- Wipeouts!
- And More
Heli-skiing is a quintessential Bucket List item. It seems just out of reach enough to justify a “one day” mentality, but with dozens of operators in British Columbia alone, we all know it’s there — waiting for us.
The fact is, heli-skiing is not as unattainable as you may think. Purcell Heli-Skiing, in Golden, BC, offers day-skis for a rack rate of $995 per person. Lunch and rentals included. Expensive? Yes. But during my day there were clients ranging from affluent Quebeckers to rippin’ Kiwi snowboarders who had simply saved their pennies for a season. Everyone I asked had the same reply, “It was a Bucket List item.”
And heli-skiing is so worth it. The absolute rush of the helicopter, the untracked powder, the mountain scenery — I never wanted my day to end. You’ve seen the pros do it — here is what a day of heli-skiing looks for the everyman. (Don’t make fun of my helmet-hair!)
