When you make the leap into quality outdoor gear, you immediately wonder why you spent all those years wet, cold and uncomfortable… suffering through cold feet, frosty hands and soaked skin.
In short—comfort and adventure are not mutually exclusive. Take winter boots, for example. With warm tootsies, you can stay out all day, strolling through the snow and enjoying that serenity that only comes when the mercury drops below zero (Or below 32, for you Americans.)
You might be able to wait out a nippy nose or even chilly hands, but once your feet freeze—your day is done. That’s why good boots matter.
I recently had the opportunity to test out an awesome new pair of winter boots—the Vasque Lost 40. I’m a big fan of Vasque footwear. I have two pairs of their hikers (lightweight and backpacking) and my wife has a pair too. They’re big on comfort. And, generally, they look pretty cool too.
This continues with the Lost 40. Though designed as a snowshoe/winter hiking boot, I think they look nice enough to roam the streets of Vancouver. In fact, I was just on West 4th with these moccasin-style stompers and I thought I looked pretty cool.
